Born in Chennai, 1942.
Bhaskaran studied advanced painting at Government College of arts and crafts, Chennai from 1960-66. He underwent training for Fresco techquie at Bhanasthali Vidyapith College, Rajasthan in 1964. Under the scholarship from IAPA, UNESCO, studied intaglio printmaking lithography and ceramic at En Hod in Israel in 1968. He worked on the same technique under Prof. Paul Lingren of Smithsonian Institue, USA. In India he studied print making techniques with post graduation at Portsmouth polytechnic, England as a British Council Scholar.
Bhaskaran has held important offices, namely that of Honorary Secretary, Lalitkala Academy, Chennai, 1987. Principal at the College of Art, Kumbakonam, TN, in the same capacity at the Govt. College of Art, Chennai. Served as member of India Council for Technical education and as Eminent Artist LKA New Delhi, 1997-2002. Has held the position of the Chairman of LKA, New Delhi. He was also a Jury member for Florence International Biennale, Italy.
